ACTIVATE Magazine
I pitched an idea for a student-led publication at Iowa State University’s Student Innovation Center to highlight student success stories in innovation. I created the brand, hired the staff, edited the content, directed design, and more as the publication’s editor and student advisor. The inaugural ACTIVATE Magazine was released on Sept. 1, 2022.
Business is sweet – and sticky – for Ames maple syrup service
An 8-year-old girl and her 6-year-old brother were bundled in their winter coats, waiting anxiously by the back door of their Ames home, when a car and trailer pulled up alongside the curb Thursday evening.
On the side of the trailer read “Front Yard Sugar Maple Syrup Co.,” and as the siblings rushed over to help carry buckets to their driveway, they couldn’t wait to get started.
They were going to help tap a maple tree.
